1867 came to Waitohi. 1884 took over 175 acres of his father's farm. 1901
shifted to Timaru, gave up farming because of ill health. Member of Waitohi
School Committee. Tombstone in the Timaru Cemetery: (section G, block H,
lot 204) John Hullen died 28 October 1901 aged 48. Erected by his wife
Matilda M Hullen. Canterbury Death Duty Register C5/194.
