About the Trust.
The trust was formed by David Jack, a great, great nephew of Fitzsimmons on 17th March 2003. The trusts objectives are as follows
1. To promote and encourage the collection and preservation, presentation and display of memorabilia relating to Robert (Bob) Fitzsimmons and his opponents.
2. To gather together Bob Fitzsimmons related boxing memorabilia.
3. To maintain and grow the means of displaying such collected memorabilia in Timaru, New Zealand including the internet by means of an on-line museum at www.fitzsimmons.co.nz.
4. To promote knowledge about Bob Fitzsimmons and his opponents.
5. To support any initiatives including publications, plays, poems, films and documentaries aimed at promoting knowledge of Bob Fitzsimmons and his opponents.
In keeping with its deed the trust requires donations to help fund the purchase of further Fitzsimmons boxing memorabilia and support the on going costs of protecting and cataloguing the memorabilia it already holds. We would therefore welcome any small contribution you may be able to offer.
